HELPFUL INFORMATION
Food:
Food in Morocco is surprisingly European but with distinctive Arab and Berber touches. The traditional Moroccan tagine (stew) and couscous are readily available and inexpensive, but so are more familiar dishes such as roast chicken, hamburgers and chips. Seafood is also available fresh from the fishermen in the village and in most restaurants. Due to our central location, Taghazout’s many cafes and restaurants are only a few minutes’ walk away. Most meals are served with flat or french bread and hot, sweet, mint tea.
Our chef, Addelouhad, is also happy to serve banquet style evening meals consisting of various traditional and European dishes, accompanied by french and flatbread, mint tea and coffee in our Surf 'n' Stay base apartment if requested. There is an additional, but very reasonable, charge for this service.
For Holidays in Self Catering Apartments:
All Apartments are equipped with cooking facilities. A minute's walk from the apartments there are a number of restaurants, which serve good inexpensive food. Basic food items can be purchased in the village, but if you wish to stock up on arrival please contact us with a view to visiting the large hypermarket, Marjane, located on the other side of Agadir.
Alcohol:
There are no restrictions on alcohol sold to tourists, but as a Moslem country there are restrictions on the sale of alcohol to Moroccans. Public consumption of alcohol is frowned upon. You can not purchase alcohol in the village so it is advisable to buy what you want from the duty free shops available to you in your departure airport. If required, alcohol can be purchased in the Marjane hypermarket in Agadir.
