The photographer of Kirill Umrihin is attracted to the surf and travels to Russia, taking off her interesting and undiscovered sides. When he came to Sochi for the winter Olympic Games, he decided to seal his surfer friends catching a wave in the Black Sea in a storm weather. FURFUR tried to find out from Kirill and his friend, Sergei Rasivaev, what are the prospects for surfing in Russia, who could catch up in Sochi in March, and how likely it would be to stay alive, riding on the surf in the storm.

In Sochi, I'm here to film the snoothing competition and the opening and closing ceremony of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. At that time, there were two of my friends in Sochi, Constantin Kokorev and Sergei Rashaev. They're actively promoting surfing in Russia. The next day after the Paralympiad closure, the storm weather was on the surf, and I decided to wait until my evening flight to take off friends separating waves in the Black Sea.
Nearly all the Russian guys who had fun with the surf were going to Bali. A lot of people will remember that Downsifting phenomenon when people abandoned their jobs, rented their apartments in Moscow, left in Bali and stayed there. Some of them have become very cool to ride, to participate in world competitions. However, in Russia, this surfing boom did not affect the country ' s sport.
Sergei Rasivaev was born from St. Petersburg for a long time, like many others, traveling to Bali and then traveling the world. By returning to St Petersburg ' s home, Serge began his own efforts to develop surfing in our country, became President of the Federation of Surfing of Russia. The Federation had emerged earlier, but it was Rasivaev who had initiated the surfing championships not in Bali or Sri Lanka, but here in Russia. He was the one who organized a Russian championship in Vladivostok. Next week, by the way, the St Petersburg championship begins. These cities are now building surf stations. There are people who don't have their boards who can rent them, and everyone knows that the surfs are very expensive, and there are a few in Russia.
